10th July, 2015: OSA mourns the sad demise of its distinguished alumnus, Sardar Anjum, a revolutionary poet.

The OSA mourns with deep sense of sorrow and grief the untimely and sad demise of its distinguished alumnus, Sardar Anjum, a renowned revolutionay poet and Urdu Lyricist. Sardar Anjum bpassed away yesterday at Fortis Hospital, Mohali. In Sardar Anjum's death the OSA has lost one of its proud old Mohndrians, who have made their mark at the national and international levels. Sradar Anjum was honoured with prestigious awards like Padma Bhushan, Padam Shri, the Punjab Ratan Award and 18 other state awards for his literary works from time to time. He had got "The Millennium Peace Award" from the then US First lady, Hillary Clintion in 2000. He also had the honour of heading The Punajb Arts Council. Sometime back he had visited his alma mater.

The OSA offers its heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prays to the Almighty to grant peace to the departed soul.
